BEST OF JAPAN 2027

ABOUT THE TRIP: The name says it all! This is our flagship catch-all summer trip, including many of Japan’s most popular cities (Tokyo, Hiroshima, Osaka). A big part of the fun is getting to visit Kyoto’s legendary Gion Festival, where we’ll get to go inside floats, eat great street food, and have a fantastic time. It’s a trip with a little something for everyone (not to mention a lot of free time to hit other spots you might want to see), so whether you’re an Anime fan, a casual traveler, or just want to see a much more detailed view of Japan’s most popular places, this is the journey for you.

WHAT’S NEW IN 2027: This trip usually has two nights in a hot spring at the end, and this year, we’re heading to a new one: Yaizu, in Shizuoka. You’ll take in views from seaside cliffs, sample local Shizuoka tea and microbrew beer, and kick back after running around the big city for a week.

Other details:

13 nights, including two in a hotspring resort • The Gion Festival • Stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Yaizu, Shizuoka and points between • Fantastic for first time travelers or people looking to get the most out of a summer vacation without a hectic schedule

SUMMER MATSURI 2027

AUG. 1/2* – AUG. 11, 2027

$4,295

ABOUT THE TRIP: Summer Matsuri was one of the “big” trips we ran in year one, and while the concept has been pushed into other corners of Japan from time to time, we’re bringing back the original trip for 2027. The trip is a little shorter than other ones (9 nights) but leans a bit into the fancy side of things, especially accommodations. This is a trip that’s all about reveling in the summer season and festivals, beginning in Tokyo with a series of stops for both sightseeing and shopping before we head to Ito for their amazing Anjinsai Festival. Along the way, we’ll visit the historical city of Kamakura, the gorgeous isle of Enoshima, and much more. From fireworks on the beach to dressing in yukata and sailing our wishes down the river, it’s a journey you’ll never forget!

WHAT’S NEW IN 2027: For our time in Shibuya, we’ll have alternate destinations for people who don’t want to fight the crowds. Our free day also includes an optional second festival in Kiryu, which is a massive party with floats, food, dancing, and even an electronica/hip-hop festival.

Other details:

9 nights, including three in a hotspring resort • The Anjinsai Festival • Stops in Tokyo, Kamakura, Ito, the Izu Peninsula, Kiryu (optional) and points between • If you want to enjoy the festivals and celebrations that the locals look forward to all year long, this is your trip!

OMAKASE MINI IS BACK FOR 2027!

That’s right, friends: MINI IS BACK. The smaller version of our legendary mystery trip returns in 2027, and it’s one night longer and a little pricier, but still one heck of a deal.

For the uninitiated, here’s how the Omakase concept works:

  1. You sign up for the trip

  2. We interview everyone on the trip

  3. We craft a trip based on those interviews and it’s awesome.

  4. …but you don’t know where you’re going until you get there.

Omakase Mini 2027
$300.00

October 20* - 30, 2027

Toss a little mystery into your Japan journey!

✨ Experience a customized mystery trip with unknown destinations

💸 Shorter, less expensive version of our popular Omakase journey

🎁 Itinerary is custom-tailored based on the group’s travel preferences

✅ Includes 9 nights, all transport, guides, and baggage service

$3,895

So if you want a trip that’s all you’ve ever dreamed (kinda), and you’re not the kind of person who is scared by the whole “not knowing where you’re going” thing, this is the party you want to join!

OMAKASE MINI 2027

OCT. 19/20* – AUG. 11, 2027

$3,895

9 nights • Goes all kinds of interesting places that we won’t tell you about until you get there!

*= the second number is the day you should arrive in Japan. Refer to each trip webpage for more information!

WHAT ABOUT OMAKASE 2027 (the longer, fancier one)?

Well… there won’t be one.

Okay, alumni. Put the rocks down. Please. Evan can’t run trips if you break all his bones.

Due to some stuff that could potentially happen in 2028, there will not be an Omakase 2027. We cannot say much about this at all (so don’t ask…), but we can say that this will not be the end of the announcements for 2027. Stay tuned, more fun stuff coming!
