way beyond the typical summer vacation.
If youβre going to visit Japan in the summer time, why not participate in the things that the locals look forward to every single year? Thatβs the idea behind Summer Matsuri - a slower paced vacation that begins in the big city of Tokyo, but also explores surrounding regions at the height of festival season. In other words: fireworks, street food, the chance to design and float your own lantern down the river, Taiko concerts, and so much more. Weβre even taking a group to Kiryu on a free day for the people who want to get a little more fun into their schedule.
Speaking of fun, thereβs no shortage of it here: the famous TeamLabs Planets interactive art museum, the Leiji Matsumoto-designed cruise boat Hotaluna, a dinner party and Anime shopping in Akihabara, the chance to design your own luggage tags and build your own Totoro (yes, really!), spelunk the caves and watch the waves off Enoshima, and so much more.
Outside Tokyo, weβll spend a day in the historic city of Kamakura before the main event: three nights in a hot spring resort as we join the local Anjinsai festival in Ito on the Izu Peninsula. Pick up a yukata in Harajuku before we go, by the way; youβll want to dress the part as we take to the streets with the locals to celebrate and have a good time.
Summer Matsuri is one of the classics that helped establish PacSet, and we are thrilled to bring it to you all again! Sign up today and get ready for the summer vacation of your dreams!
