This Week @ PacSet: Two New Trips + Last Call for Summer!
Does it look like Kamen Rider is gonna run over that cute lil dude? No? Whew.
Ah, there’s nothing like the cherry blossom season at PacSet. The trees are blooming, the inbox is busy, and we’re launching new trips! You like those, we like those, so let’s talk about ‘em:
TWO NEW TRIPS!
After a long back and forth with the powers that be in the Tokyo hotel business, we launched two new trips with two of our good friends: Anime News Network and Anime Detour.
ANN IN JAPAN 2025
Following our first ANN in Japan trip in 2023, we knew we wanted to run another trip with Anime News Network - and this one is one heck of a journey.
This all-thriller-no-filler trip is the new gold standard for our Anime fan-oriented journeys. There’s an exclusive visit to Studio Engi, meetups with industry guests, a Halloween party, and much much more. It’s one heck of a journey and we cannot wait to bring it to all of you.
Speaking of Anime…
ANIME DE-TOUR 2026: TWO TRIPS!
Our first 2026 offering has dropped, and it’s another journey with our friends from Minnesota and Anime De-Tour. Specifically, it’s… two trips. Allow us to explain.
We’ve run six trips for our friends at Anime Detour since we started operations, and we have an awesome group of people who have gone on literally ALL of them. We always set out to create a trip for everyone, but at this point, a lot of the Tokyo content would be a repeat for most folks… so we split the trips into two different offerings. The trip can be found here, and we’ll be releasing a detailed schedule for both offerings later this week.
The first De-Tour is a shorter version of our Anime trip to Tokyo; think our previous “Animated Spring” trips with a few extra flourishes.
The second De-Tour goes north for the Sapporo Snow Festival, but then heads to Hakodate and Morioka before landing at a hot spring where we all get a private onsen bath on our balconies. It’s a combo of elements of our “Fire and Ice” and “Taste of Japan North” journeys with some other cool extras tossed in because we can.
LAST CALL FOR SUMMER!
We’ve extended the deadline for our summer trips, so they both fall on the same weekend! We did this because we totally can.
A reminder of your choices: Best Of Japan, as the name suggests, is our main “see a little of everything in the summer” trip, with festivals, the Osaka World Expo (whoah), a hot spring, and a whole lot of other stuff. Fireworks, explosions, exploring, oh my.
If you’re looking for something a little different, we’ve got Island Hopper, which answers the question, “hey, does Japan have a bunch of under-explored islands with great summer weather?” with, “yeah, so let’s go there.” There will be beaches, bbqs, breathtaking views and a lot of relaxation. It’s the vacation you deserve. <3
As a reminder: if you are a teacher, you get $300 off either summer trip! We wish we could do more than a $300 discount with everything that’s going on in the world right now, but we hope that the idea of making a nice vacation a little easier helps.
