This Week @ PacSet: Trips Moving to 2027 + Timeline updates

2027 Movements

A few bits of movement on the schedule for 2027, for those of you who love to plan ahead: we’re moving three trips to 2027. The main reasons for this change are pretty straightforward:

  • We wanted more time to promote these trips. We believe in these three trips and think they’d do well, but we got pretty behind in promoting them since we were on the road for the entirety of Q4 last year. That was wild.

  • We’re planning a few other things to pair with them that we think you’ll love.

What we can say for certain is that no more trips will move to 2027 at this time. For those who missed their initial announcements, here’s a bit more about what’s moving (as previously seen in our trip rollouts a few months ago):

BEST OF THE WEST

What: An urban-centric trip with a lot of cool under-explored spots tossed in. There’s a CAVE on this sucker, friends.

Where: Fukuoka, Hagi Onsen, Hiroshima, and points between.

Who it’s for: Anyone who thinks that the best of urban Japan is in Tokyo and wants to be proved wrong. Fukuoka and Hiroshima are some of Japan’s most storied trade ports and culture-rich cities, and there’s something for everyone here, from historical marvels to streets lined with the best ramen you’ll ever have. You’ll also visit Hagi, a citrus growing old castle town where the hot spring is on the beach and the city feels like you’ve stepped into a time machine to the feudal area.

Bonus fact: We’ve included meals at some of our favorite places on this one, so if you have a curious palate, come on down!

SETO SEASIDER 2027

What: A deep dive into the area around Japan’s most famous sea, complete with a stay in a traditional machiya and an unreasonable amount of delicious citrus fruits.

Where: Matsuyama, Dogo Onsen, Kurashiki, Okayama, and Kobe

Who it’s for: This is a really good one for the person who wants to do Tokyo but isn’t sure where to go from there. This trip has it all: views (a waterfront train cruise!), a diverse collection of lodging of all kinds, and the city in the Kansai area that everyone skips despite it having some of the best food in the world.

Bonus fact: This will be the first trip we’ve ever operated where we’ll be renting a Machiya. You’re welcome.

Rural Relaxation 2027

What: The chance to kick back and eat a ton of amazing food in gorgeous rural areas where there are waterfalls everywhere! I’m not kidding; there’s a lot of pretty falling water on this one.

Where: Central and Southern Shikoku (Kochi Prefecture and Tokushima Prefecture mainly), plus the famous temple lodging at Mt. Koya and a hot spring resort overlooking a beach in Shirahama. If you’ve never heard of any of those spots, we assure you that they’ll become unforgettable the moment you travel there.

Who it’s for: Explorers, people who like natural beauty and a little bit of history, and anyone who read about the “Tokyo to Kyoto” trip everyone else does and thinks, “geez, I want to do something different in a place with way less people.”

Bonus fact: We will be picking strawberries, roasting our own tea, and doing a lot of cool interactive stuff on this one. You won’t want to miss it!

OTHER NEWS!

Watch this space next week. We’re plotting some big things… very, very big things. See you next week!
