Immerse yourself in the world’s finest rural hospitality.
Welcome to PacSet’s most immersive, impressive rural itinerary ever! The first part of our adventure begins in Shirahama Onsen (one of Japan’s oldest!), where you’ll kick back on the sea shore before we head inland to visit the massive Hongu Taisha Shrine. We’ll take in some local hospitality in Japan’s “most rural” village, Totsukawa, followed by an overnight at a buddhist temple on Mt. Koya!
The second part of the journey brings us to Shikoku, where we’ll explore the cities of Tokushima and Kochi, ride up the scenic Mt. Bizan and Mt. Tsurugi, and bathe in hot spring baths in the scenic Iya Valley and shoreline of Nakatosa. We’ll join our hosts to make delicious meals, craft our own Japanese washi paper, and sample local sake and fish options at friendly local markets.
The best part? You can come for the first part of the trip, the second, or both! No matter what path you choose, you’ll get an unforgettable experience where you’ll have the freedom to relax or hike, swing or sit, rest or run… you get the idea.
Space is limited, so book now for one of the most unique Japan trips we have ever planned!
