PacSet’s most groundbreaking, creative itinerary is back for another round!

If you believe travel should be a life changing experience, Kyushu Hideaways is the trip you’ve been waiting for. Bringing together some of Japan’s most critically acclaimed natural scenery, the tour will whisk you from volcanic islands and mysterious forests to waterfall-fed gorges and relaxing hot springs. Along the way, you’ll get to sample regional cuisine at the inns and resorts we call home, get one-of-a-kind souvenirs and local sake from area merchants, and explore at your own pace – whether that pace involves hiking, relaxing, or a little of both!

After checking out the shores of Sakurajima in Kagoshima, we’ll jet across the ocean to explore the forest that inspired the look of the Ghibli film Princess Mononoke on Yakushima. Then it’s back ashore to get buried in the therapeutic sands of Ibusuki before we visit a brand new destination: the city of Kumamoto and their amazing castle. Your guide will chauffeur you to Mt. Aso, where you’ll see steam vents, super views, and even an abandoned tunnel that locals turned into an art museum!

If you prefer your views to be of the ocean, no worries; we’ll also visit the gorgeous “washboard” island of Aoshima and the caves of the seaside Udo Shrine. Not impressed yet? We promise that sailing through the rivers of Takachiho Gorge past numerous scenic waterfalls are sure to leave you speechless. Finally, we’ll unwind for three days at a resort in Miyazaki, where you can choose to hike, explore, sit on the beach, or just toast marshmallows by the fire pit with a drink in your hand.

Take the road less traveled and join a journey that we guarantee will impress. We’ll see you in Kyushu!
